The Herbal Handbook is a useful companion book to Dr. Duke's best-selling book The Green Pharmacy (also available here). It is a guide to 180 healing herbs, for treating and preventing disease, from Dr. Duke's extensive database of the world's medicinal plants which he began during his career as a top botanist with the USDA. Each entry details the description of the plant, therapeutic uses, medicinal properties, prescription counterparts, dosage options, safety rating, and precautions. There is a 35 page guide to conditions if you would like to know what herbs are recommended for a specific health problem.
