French Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) buds are useful for potpourri or sachets. We use them for dry cleaning pillows. Here is an easy application that you can use to get some surprisingly pleasant results.
Dry Clean Your Pillow with Lavender:
> Pour about 3 Tbl of lavender buds into the bottom of a plastic trash bag.
> Place your pillow in the trash bag.
> Insert the end of your vacuum cleaner nozzle into the bag.
> Wrap the opening of the trash bag around the vacuum nozzle.
> Turn on the vacuum until the pillow shrinks to a compact size.
> Pull the vacuum nozzle out and let the bag expand, pulling in fresh air.
> Repeat to completely dry clean your pillow, infusing it with the fresh scent of lavender. |
