Flax (Linum usitatissium) is the best seed to use for making eye and neck pillows. This 1 lb. bag of clean, sealed seed is the perfect amount to make one eye pillow.
To make one 4.5" x 12" eye pillow, you'll need a 25" x 10" piece of heavy ticking material. Fold to 12.5 x 5" rectangle and sew edges, leaving a hole to fill with 1 lb. flax seed using a funnel. Hand sew to tightly close the opening. Make a pillow cover using a 31" by 10" piece of cotton material. This will allow enough material to make a tuck-away closure on one of the long ends.
