What is Propolis? Propolis is a substance produced by honey bees from their collection of tree resins, combined with beeswax, pollen and bee enzymes. Bees coat the walks of the hive with propolis to plug holes, waterproof, and protect it from bacteria, fungus, and mold.
Propolis is safe to ingest but has a bitter taste due to its high content of resin. Researchers have found that the therapeutic properties of propolis come from substances called flavonoids found in the resin.
